#ARMAGETRON ADVANCED PLAYER LIMIT HOW TO#
Plus it might also need links to PCgamingwiki or posts on how to restore/mod/patch/fix LAN functionality, as well as router config etc. Do you want to create a list and each game has specific tags for searching? Or is it more like a very interactive addition to the current wiki, letting you sort through different user- defined filters and tags. I'd love to contribute but what kind of filtering system are you aiming for? Given your comments it sounds more like the questions asked are just as important as the games in the list. I've also written custom VBS lauchers for each game that will set players usernames before the game launches There are only so many FPS you can play in a night RTS and FPS games are low priority now because
#ARMAGETRON ADVANCED PLAYER LIMIT OFFLINE#
I've been working for around a year now to bulild up a PERSONAL list of cracked/patched games that are purely offline (no internet LANs) Steam dosnt even have a LAN category for games either, so locating games that actualy fit pure offline LAN is really hard. Pretty much every modern LAN list has online games that people play together over the internet. These are some we found really fun and actually good, note that these are all games from 2000-2005 range AoE 2 is even older but looks good for RTS game. ( no need for online just make offline profile, 1-64 players, many maps, progression is not really important since you unlock few guns but stock ones are good, easy to setup.)

( RTS game, no progression, 1-8 players works well with even 1v1, plenty of content and gamemodes, might need a fan patch to modernize it a bit tehnically like fps, widescreen, and stability, no need to be online) ( Gog version, has no progression, easy to set up server, 1-32 players but works well with low number, has many gamemodes, no need to be online to work, a bit older game so some might not like the lack of widescreen support, maybe there are tweaks for that. ( racing game works well with many players, GoG drm free version, no need to be online to play, has no progression everything is unlocked or selected/limited by creator, easy to set up.
#ARMAGETRON ADVANCED PLAYER LIMIT MODS#
1-32 players works even good with just 4, Has Assault game mode with classes, and vehicles, editor for map making/editing,, also mods that can help you costumize game to your liking, no progression, no need to be online to work)

( GoG version has no DRM, has LAN might need a small patch to show servers as of 1.4 ver. Most older games have no level progression just plain old grab a gun and shoot, also they are easy to set up and make server for them. Would you help me contribute to a list like this? I can work out a gdrive sheet. Low skill threshold and high skill ceiling The perfect games IMO need to have the following: The only way to play them is between experienced players (ex.: single player campaign completed). Most RTS games: the skill threshold for these games to be enjoyable is absurdly high. They are balanced for big teams and cooperation, which you usually lack in a lan setting.

The gap between veterans and newbies is too large.Įnemy territory games: those are superb lan games, but you NEED many players to make matches enjoyable AND they have to know the bare minimum about objectives, classes and their functionality.

Level dependent online games such as World of Tanks/Warships etc. Too often I see poor suggestions which are too subjective for each group example: Borderlands: it's bloody fun in lan, but only if you have at most 4 player able to frequently meet up, otherwise it becomes a boring level 1-10 slog. Been doing lans for many years and the thing that still baffles me most is how there's no common list of games which are appropriate for a lan party, with useful filters like these:Īccount required with progression/no progression/no account
